There were times in the past when women cursed themselves for being born as females. They were deprived even of fundamental education forget about entering the male dominated domains. Then as time passed they fought for their privileges and bit by bit started educating themselves. Still they were deprived of entering many fields. It’s not very long in the past when the only jobs considered ideal for ladies were professors and nurses. Now we’re in twenty first century and women have all the rights they deserve. It will not be wrong to say that being a lady is now a privilege. An example of this is the scholarships for females. Who must have thought in the past that being a lady would get you a scholarship?

There are numerous scholarships for women who wish to major in domains where women are not so numerous, such as engineering, mathematics, and health sciences. Countless colleges and non-profit companies support this cause to encourage women to pursue schooling in the men dominated areas.

Schools like diversified student population. However, there’s an imbalance when it comes to gender representation. So universities give exclusive grants to female scholars. The Ford foundation’s Pre-Doctoral Fellowship for minorities do have such special scholarships for women. Then The National Physical Science Consortum provides grants as well as scholarships to women who pursue diploma in math or science. You can benefit from all of these.

When you’re looking for scholarships for women you can start your quest from girls schools. It may not sound very attractive but they say “people do anything for money”. So why not go to women’s schools to save some money. The Agnes Scott College in Atlanta offers many different grants and scholarships for women.

For females who cannot afford to pay college charges, there are special money even for them. The Jeanette Rankin Foundation offers scholarships to women over 35 years of age who plan to go back to education. This and a few other scholarships as well are particularly for single mothers who want to go back to school.

Most single moms can’t manage to pay for their college because they have children to feed. These scholarships can greatly benefit them by assisting in paying for their education, and they also allow them to advance in their careers and earn better wages.
