How To Prepare Your Home For Get-togethers And Holiday Parties
Are you having lots of people over for the holidays? Do you often host weekend get-togethers or Friday night parties? If so, there are many ways you can turn your home into a comfortable party haven with a few simple tricks.
Keep your guests comfortable at each party by regulating the temperature of your house. You can even do it without having to break the bank besides. You don’t have to rely on the main heater or the air conditioner for nonstop regulated conditions. When your guests are too warm, just bring out a portable air fan and aim it towards to fairly large part of your house to circulate any stale air.
Another way to help your guests stay comfortable is to warm up the air in your house with home space heaters. These come in several different sizes and can be placed just about anywhere. They are very affordable and portable, and their thermostats can be turned up or down as much as necessary based on how much heat you need to circulate.
Always provide enough food for your friends at a party. Nothing encourages a good conversation like delicious food prepared in a convection oven or grilled outside on the grill. Finger foods like cookies, deviled eggs, hors d’oeuvres, fudge squares, or a dip and veggie tray will maintain happy guests while they’re waiting for you to cook a full meal or during game play.
Serving your company non-alcoholic drinks are a fun way to keep them happy while enabling them to safely drive back home. Chilled and frozen drinks can be prepared in a blender or food processor right before pouring them into crystal or colored glasses. Put these on a charger or pretty tray for a lovely presentation.
It’s not enough to just rely on drinks and good food to occupy your company the whole time, though. You’ll need to provide other forms of entertainment so they’ll want to sometime return to your home for future parties. When you’re hosting a holiday event, you might consider hiring bands, a pianist, or other performer to play Christmas music. If you’re having a summer or spring party, set up some croquet or golf, a volleyball net, or even just a place for kids or teens to play football. These all keep guests well occupied when you entertain.
Make yourself a reputation of being the life of the party by providing easy cleanup in the form of trash bins and disposable silverware, cups, napkins, and plates. Company is usually not very fond of bringing back dishes to a crowded kitchen; it’s much easier for yourself and your guests when you give them enough trash receptacles in the house or the garage to dump their used items when they feel up to it; this will prevent you from having a lot of cleanup when the party’s over.

The Furniture In Our Local Curry House is Updated more Than Their Menu
With all of us having such busy schedules it is important to try and ensure that you still spend time with the family.
In our home it’s important to me that we all endeavour to sit down to a family dinner. It gives us time to catch up on what has been happening during the day and enjoy a bit of family time.
Now that the children are a bit older though, this isn’t always possible as they are either out with their partners or friends.
Regardless of what’s happening though, Friday night is family night and we always make sure we are all available.
Sometimes I make the effort to cook, but more often than not I will persuade everybody to take a stroll down to our local Indian eatery. It’s only a short 5 minute stroll away so we can all relax and enjoy a drink with our meal then take a nice leisurely walk home at the end of the evening.
We have been eating at the same restaurant for at least 5 years and it is amazing how many different refurbishments they have gone through in that time period.
When we first started going there they had a lot of worn out looking pub furniture. This was soon replaced and in came the café furniture phase. This was certainly an improvement, but in my opinion still not the right look for an Indian Restaurant.
Within about 6 months another refurbishment followed and out went the old and in came the beautiful contemporary furniture.
The new look is fantastic and it has certainly given the restaurant a whole new lease of life.
They are always trying to improve their restaurant and just recently have introduced a magnificent buffet area.
It’s fantastic because there is always a never ending supply of popodams and all the pickles that go with them and on top of that there are about 20 different dishes you can enjoy.
It is good because you get a chance to try different dishes that you wouldn’t normally order and if you don’t like it, then it doesn’t matter you just try something else.
Well all this writing about food has made me hungry and even though it’s only Tuesday I might just have to suggest to the family that we have a curry tonight as I can already taste my prawn biryani!!
