The Elements Of Feng Shui Gua Can Be Used To Bring Balance To Your Home

Having harmony in the home can increase the level of harmony that we feel inside. If that sounds like New Age rhetoric, the truth is that the concepts of harmony and balance go back thousands of years and are still applied today with Feng Shui. There are a number of levels in Feng Shui, which are called Feng Shui Gua that can add harmony to your home. Learning how to apply these different Gua can help you make your home more of a sanctuary.

Gua encapsulates and represents the energies of the universe as a whole and is broken down into different categories titled : lake, fire, thunder, wind, mountain, water, and earth. All of these groups have rich traditions and symbology associated with them within the Chinese culture. Working together and not against one another is the way to bring balance to your home life.

So, how do you apply Feng Shui Gua? Well, an example is not having your front and back doors in direct alignment to one another which creates bad energy. A way of looking at this is to consider when you are in a home whether you get the feeling of good flow.

When things flow then there can be an accompanying sense of well-being and harmony when you are in a well crafted and built home. If you think about Gua as the general flow and sense of a room that may help.

Finding out how your home’s feng shui fares at the moment can be done in two ways. You can work with a consultant who knows the philosophy or you can learn the tools of the trade- the feng shui compass and Ba-Gua. The Ba-Gua itself is broken down by a grid and contains all of the symbols of I Ching which is the precursor to Feng Shui philosophy.

If you find out that your home does not have good Feng Shui and that rebuilding is your first option, this is not a result that is easy for renters to deal with. Don’t worry! There are a number of cures that can be applied to your home such as adding an aquarium which is thought to bring prosperity. Other objects that bring in balance include applying different colors to different areas of your home, along with clocks, crystals, and fountains.

Even if your home is lacking in Feng Shui Gua, you can apply Gua principles to making your home more harmonious and balanced. Living in a balanced home can translate into living a more balanced life, for you and for the guests that you bring into your home.
